Zorro is a wonderful boy, who was an owner surrender.
He came in to the rescue with A LOT of anxiety.
What we know about him:
He was originally purchased from a breeder and was purchased
for $800.00 He is a Party Yorkie (yorkshire Terrier)
Since we had Zorro, he was in training for 4 weeks due to bad behaviors
he had picked up, most likely for lack of attention and training.
He would bark at people non stop, and lunge at peoples feet.
Now, he turns to jello if you find his best itchy spot.
He is crate trained and leash trained, and has the ability
to make you smile with his adorable face.
The key to Zorro is to give him things to keep him occupied.
Anxiety was over the top with this lil cutie, and he needed
to have a purpose to use it.
He will make a great
companion for someone with the time to give him
daily walks and to refresh him on all the tricks he knows,
and to perhaps teach him more.
He loves to learn and will do just about anything for a treat
and this also helps to keep his anxious mind busy
to be the happiest.
The trainers main concern was if he doesn't have structure
in a calm manner,
and a way to get out his energy, he will most likely regress.
No longer is he a barker or a lunger.
Zorro prefers if humans were his only companion.
(He really is a 1 person dog, and children would
not be a good fit for him due to his history, and he doesn't seem
to understand babies and toddlers).
He is house trained and goes outside when taken. (Not doggy door trained).
LOVES TO LEARN, and agility things would be his favorite
thing to do with his human. He is very "Handler" attentive.
(like: jumping up on things, weave polls and spin on command).
He knows "calm" on his bed and will lay down and wait for you to give
him a command.
He loves to play with men and can get a little excited in anticipation
but will play with sticks and soft toys as an alternative.
Now he goes on walks with no reaction to other people walking.
During this time is a great time to incorporate some training time.
He isn't 100% into being brushed, he kind of thinks its a game.
so repetition and patience will be necessary.
He will need to be taken to a groomers regularly as he will knot up
quickly with his long gorgeous hair he has.
Zorro is neutered, current on immunization shots, rabies shot, bordetella,
and he is micro-chipped.
(**See a video of Zorro in training on our website homepage)
Zorro's weight is 9lb and is 4 yrs old.
Zorro's adoption fee is set at $300.00
